Custom Commissions
Starting a Commission
STEP ONE: What? When? Why?
Before contacting me with a consultation request please have this information ready!
- What is the garment you want brought to life?
- When is the date you wish your garment to be completed.
- Why do you think I would be a good fit for this project?
Please provide reference photos, sketches, mood boards, etc.
I do my best to work within my client’s budget, having an idea of your allowance gives me a great place to start.

COMMISSION FAQs
1.) How long does it take to create a custom garment?
My ideal timeframe to create a custom garment is one – two months. This will vary depending on my schedule and the garment(s) in question. I may occasionally offer rush services for an added fee. I will not make any custom garment within two weeks. I ask all potential clients to plan accordingly.
2.) How much would a commission cost?
Custom garments are NOT an average garment you buy at a department store. Custom orders are tailored to you and your specific needs. Your measurements, fabric choices, style and color are all unique. This is reflected in the cost I charge for my time and skill. I provide a final cost towards the end of an official consultation.
This is a rough outline of some common garments and what I may charge (No price is finalized until a consultation)
T-shirt: $40 +
Sweater: $100–200
Jacket: $200–400
Shorts: $100–200
Pants: $200–400
Mini Dress: $200–500
Maxi Dress: $500+
Evening Gown: $1000+
3.) Who are the people you create for? What types of garments do you create?
I like to work with clients who have a bold and creative point of view. Entertainers, musicians, cosplayers and people who like to wear cool stuff. I only work with clients I can collaborate well with. My preferred garments to create include outer wear, streetwear, costumes, cosplay, pants, shirts, sweaters, coats, jackets etc.. My style is edgy, bold, provocative, and inspiring.
I do not replicate the work of other artists. My goal is to bring your creative vision to life in an original and unique way.
4.) How can I pay?
Custom commissions can be paid via cash, card, Venmo, PayPal, and Cashapp. I require an agreement to be signed at the time of all commission payments. This will outline the scheduled work, and I will also provide a receipt.
Most garments must be paid in full upfront. Occasionally I will provide a 50% down payment with the remainder to be paid upon delivery. This is provided as available and at my discretion.
5.) Can I schedule a consultation?
Yes! Consultations are free. However, to safeguard my time, I limit consultations to approximately 20 minutes. I find that it is an adequate amount of time to discuss all your needs before committing to a commission. I may refuse any consultation that does not align with my business goals or creative vision
Clients may book an extended consultation for up to 60 minutes for $50.00. This is to offer peace of mind to our clients who have a significantly larger project and require more time talking about fine details.
Booking an extended consultation does NOT guarantee I will take your commission. This fee remains mine whether you choose to book my custom commission services. This fee does NOT apply to your garment total.
6.) Where are you located?
I am located in Downtown Buffalo, New York.
Custom garments are limited to those in WNY – Buffalo, New York and surrounding areas. I will only take on clients who have the means to effectively travel to my studio and maintain all necessary fitting appointments. I do not travel for custom garments.
7.) What is your background and experience?
I started sewing at 12 years old, giving me over 20 years of experience. I started my business and brand, House of Raige, in 2019. From that point my life has been dedicated to the art and skill of tailoring, design and garment construction.
8.) How can I contact you?
The most effective way to contact me and schedule a consultation will be email, text message Instagram or Facebook DM. Phone calls I use for existing clients who have paid for their commissions. I will not use any other form of communication for commissions. Clients must sign our custom garment agreements to finalize any project.
